It's not TV, it's HBO.

"Doc, my TV is broken."

"I think there's a sticker on there with a number you can call."

"It doesn't get HBO."

"I actually don't think it's supposed to get HBO."

"You gotta be kidding, come on."

"No, I really don't think the TV gets HBO."

"I don't understand. First they tell me there's no sushi, then I find out there's no bathrobes, just this stupid gown, and now you're telling me no HBO. What kind of a place is this?"

"A hospital."

"But I have good insurance."

"No insurance is that good."

"You don't know what I pay."

"I can imagine."

"For what I pay, there should at least be some little bottles of shampoo I can take home."

"Not a hotel, sir."

"At least we get room service."

  1. Some hospitals have a special wing where patients can get stuff like that. For a fee of course.

  2. Wow. And when I've been in the hospital, all I can think of is ewww. Get me out of this germ and bacteria breeding place! Some people expect to be given everything!

  3. all I want when I go to a hospital is competent care. Forget all the rest. But then, I live in Canada and there isn't any "special rooms" for celebrities and such....

  4. Yes, there are some hospitals that are almost indistinguishable from luxury hotels except for the hospital stuff, of course. I've worked for bank executives and helped them coordinate their stays at these places. The stay is covered by executive level insurance with personal spending accounts. The 'patient' can get sushi, along with massage, swimming, golf (with caddy and golf cart) and many other luxury vacation perks, but because it is a hospital, the money they spend on it is tax free. Just run a Google search for 'luxury Hospital' and you'll find some of them.
