"Don't touch me. I want the doctor."
"I am the doctor."
"No, you're not."
"Yes, I am."
"You're a liar."
"Look at my ID badge. It says M.D. I'm the doctor."
"You're a liar. I hate liars. Get out of here."
"Sir, I'm the doctor. I just need to examine you."
"No, you're lying. You're not the doctor. You're a liar."
And so it went, for ten minutes, until I was finally able to get the patient to let me examine him. Just another day....

LoL. Today I happened to visit the office of my ISP. And the lady clerk there said, "Sir, you do not look like a doctor but a student!" (She knew it from the address).
ReplyDeleteYup! One needs to look at least middle-aged to be "labeled" as "doctor". But tell me, is not it that in medical institutions offering residency programs, it is the residents who actually spend hours with patients!
